Which I didn't like. And A LONG DAY'S NIGHT (1964). Which Is...ok. MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR (1967)-Ugh! The only Beatles movie I like is the YELLOW SUBMARINE (1968) and they don't even do the voices! Popular actors like Andy Lau, Aaron Kwok, Nicholas Tse and Ekin Cheng are some examples. Aaron Kwok, I believe, started as a dancer for another pop singer and made it as both a singer and actor. Andy Lau has played to hundreds of thousands, as did the late Leon Lai.
It's almost unheard of for a Western singer to have a very successful film and music career, and they if they make the crossover, they tend to concentrate on one at the expense of the other. He wasn't much of an actor but he sang very well and had a good on screen presence.

And here are some of them, excluding those already mentioned, and those who appeared in musicals.
Singers who morphed into actors--more or less Alan Arkin -- Bing Crosby -- Bobby Vinton -- Fabian (who became Fabian Forte, when he went into acting) -- and Rudy Vallee. Groups and Duos The Beach Boys -- Donny and Marie Osmond -- Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello -- Sonny and Cher -- and The Spice Girls. Cher also had a solo acting career., And then there was . . . who both acted and sang Art Garfunkle -- Elton John -- Jim Nabors -- Kenny Rogers -- Keith Richards -- Kris Kristofferson -- Little Richard -- Lulu -- Pat Boone -- and Willie Nelson. And I am sure there are many others, I have failed to mention. |
