Title: American Psycho (2000)
Post by: ER on August 14, 2019, 06:02:54 PM
Fact fact: One of my favorite groups, Mediaeval Babes, has a song credit in this film.

Unfun fact: Test audiences reported being more disturbed by the depiction of Patrick Bateman holding a gun to a kitten's head (and releasing it unharmed) than they were by Bateman's gunning down an elderly woman in the same scene.

Snide fact: In the novel, the private detective who talks to Patrick Bateman in his office (and who may or may not have been real) was the exact same age as Bateman, yet in the movie was played by Willem Dafoe, who is twenty years older than Bateman actor Christian Bale.

Weird fact: The sock Christian Bale wore concealed on his penis in a sex scene with actress Guinevere Turner was later auctioned off for African AIDS relief.

Inconvenient fact: Despite claims of American Psycho's misogyny, Patrick Bateman kills exactly as many men as he does women in the plot.

Useless fact: In Korean language credits to the film, Huey Lewis and the News' song Hip To Be Square was accidentally credited to Phil Collins.

Fake fact: Rosie O'Donnell was originally cast as Patrick Bateman.

You know, I didn't quite liked this movie as a whole, just a couple of particular scenes. For example, when they're showing off their cards and they're all the same, that's simply brilliant.
I prefer FALLING DOWN, even whin it's just another form of TAXI, a film which I absolutely loathe.
