I went to see the stage production in Dallas, performed by the touring cast, and even though our seats were in the nosebleed section, I was still blown away by it. But tonight I plunked down the $6.99 subscription fee for Disney Plus for the sole purpose of finally seeing the entire musical, performed by the original Broadway cast, professionally filmed. ABSOLUTELY. FREAKING. BRILLIANT!! I was literally in tears at three different points in the second act. This musical is a national treasure, and the story it brings to life is a true American story that has so many lessons to teach us today.
