Title: Just for the Hell of It (1968)

HG Lewis’ covers juvenile delinquency as only he can. The movie opens with a bunch of hoodlums randomly trashing a house. True to the title it is Just for the Hell of It.

This film goes by quicker than a lot of Lewis’ work. Plenty of it is just scenes of the delinquents causing mischief. Stuff like throwing water on a woman they drive by, tossing a pie in a cashier’s face, murder, and gang rape. Yes, this one is pretty uneven. It’s quite jarring as Lewis quickly goes from nearly innocent mischief to some of the worst crimes imaginable.

The bulk of the movie is about a gang of four (three guys and a girl). They pick a fight with a preppy looking jock and continually harass him and his girlfriend. Without completely spoiling it toward the end it turns into a revenge picture including one of most poorly shot and difficult to follow car chases ever committed to celluloid.

Highly recommended if you’re an HG Lewis fan
