Title: Santa Jaws (2018)
Post by: Ted C on November 23, 2020, 04:58:37 PM
It's bad.

Boy uses magic pen to ink a comic about a shark he made up that hates Christmas for some reason. It swims around the harbor eating people who are involved in any kind of Christmas activity.

The writing is bad, but at least it doesn't rely on all the parents being amazingly stupid and neglectful. Directing, acting, and production are neither particularly good nor particularly awful. It's the premise that's really hard to swallow.

This sounds like some hipsters trying to make a bad movie on purpose and accidentally succeeding.

I feel like someone's brain randomly vomited up the phrase "Santa Jaws", and the person thought it was such a clever turn of phrase that they had to write a screenplay around it.

yeah it does. just watched the trailer and it looks like a case of 'you see the trailer, you've seen the film'

in this case 'you heard the title, you've seen the film' might be more accurate...
