Title: Cruella

The trailer

Error 404 (Not Found)!!1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmRKv7n2If8#)

And if the link doesn't work, it is easy to find.

Does this mean that Cruella is now Disney's answer to Harley Quinn?

Funny, since the Birds of Prey movie tried very hard to turn her into DC's Deadpool.

I have no desire to see it.

The go "I am woman, hear me roar," as if the problem people had with her was that she was a woman and not that she, you know, wanted to skin puppies.

The idea that she's just unique and misunderstood and you should really cheer for her sits poorly with me.

I used to have a "wait and see" or "Wow, this Disney film has surprisingly good talent behind the camera" for these projects.  Like this one has the Oscar nominated writer of the Favourite working on its screenplay, and the director did Lars and the Real Girl and I, Tonya.  But no longer.  Disney (and, to a lesser extent, other giant studios) have proven their meddling and priorities can squeeze the skills of almost all creative people into a blandly acceptable, mushy film product on anything big budget but especially these awful live action remakes/reboots.

Look at Guy Ritchie's Aladdin or Niki Caro's Mulan.  No more.  I'll condemn this film before I see it.  It's going to be shot OK and have an alright lead performance, but everyone will see it, go that's OK, and forget it a day later once they've excreted it out of their minds.  Skip it.
