Came very close to seeing "The Deer Hunter" since my parents had a VHS copy, but never got around to watching it. I was never a huge Monty Python fan myself. You really should check it out and can no longer get credit for being 1 of the 7 or 800 people who haven't seen it. BARRY LYNDON... Motionless with lots of "action". Mesmerizing and motionless. :thumbup: THE DEER HUNTER is a mixed bag. Shortest soundtrack album of all time, I liked the music well enough to own it. The movie has also got that "motionless" quality with long sequences. I think it's very good, overrated in its time, and ... meaningless. I'm with our Rev on this one: I found The Deer Hunter to be a bit pretentious and except for the Russian Roulette scenes, a bit boring.
