Not really, as to my mind it doesn't follow the Seven Samurai formula (at least not to the same degree as the ones I featured).

Yeah, the STAR WARS references are to Kurosawa's THE HIDDEN FORTRESS, which not many Americans have seen compared to SEVEN SAMURAI or RASHOMON.
