Title: Doctor Detroit

A bad/good kinda movie. Who knew pimpin' in the '80s involved so much multitasking?

I remember when this came out,
it was not received well,
even after a lengthy run once it came
to HBO and Cinemax, I think it became
a cult classic once USA Network started
playing it on a regular basis.

It definitely should be better remembered than
how it is.

I loved this movie back in the 80's when it came out, and I've got it DVR'd to watch again soon.
I was deeply wounded when they never made DR. DETROIT II: The Wrath of Mom!

This is one of those movies that I just can't understand why it's not more popular.

Dan Akroyd was great in this.

I am hoping to run across a used copy of this at a pawn shop or thrift store any day now. I haven't seen it since I saw it in the theater.  I only want to watch it to make sure my first assessment is as bad as I recall (though I dimly recall at the very least, it wasn't totally dull)
