-The Last Temptation of Christ

I remember the censorship controversy that film went through here back in 1989 and it ended up getting banned for a very long time: many people denounced the film, especially some religious leaders. One or two of them were asked if they had actually seen the film and all replied that they hadn't

Not surprising.

I was waiting for the sale to come around, though I think I'll only buy one title this year, "The Tales of Hoffmann."

You got a real nice haul. Of those I own "Scanners" and "Last Temptation of Christ." I've seen all but "Circus," "Dekalog," "The Quatsi Trilogy," "Breaking the Waves," and "The Apu Trilogy."

"The Last Temptation of Christ" is, of course, an overwhelmingly religious movie, which is why the complaints against it by Christian groups were insane.

And I guess I'm tempted by "Pink Flamingos."

Exactly: I have religious beliefs, I've seen the film and I don't find it blasphemous.

I've been tempted to get Shaft and Pink Flamingos but in between paychecks during the sale. Also The Northman is on sale.

It's practically pornography.  Grotesque.  Funny.

The only film on that list I have seen is SCANNERS.
