Post by: Scott on April 08, 2001, 11:10:30 AM
Went to upcomingmovies.com and see some of the films due out this year. Here are some that I'm playing to see.

Planet of the Apes (July) images look good, directed by Tim Burton
Pearl Harbor (May) commercials look good
Rollerball (August) loved the original
Ghost of Mars (August) we'll see, great concept
Godzilla 2001 (Summer?) title i forget
Jason X (August) usually i don't care for jason, but they say its set in the future.
Mothman Prophecies (late 2001) richard gere, aliens, and stuff i like

Ghosts of mars...is Nathan Shumate going to have to do a "Prison riot on another planet ripoffs" review log, to go with the "Aliens Ripoffs" grude match!

Don't know when it's coming out, but the movie I'm most looking forward to is "Bubba Ho Tep." It'll star Bruce Campbell as a geriatric Elvis impersonator who teams up with an 80-year-old who thinks he's JFK to defeat a Floridian mummy, the title character. And no, I didn't make that up: You can even check Campbell's website!

Don't forget "Lord of the Rings," directed by Peter Jackson.

I have this ill feeling that the "Rollerball" remake is going to suck mighty big equine parts.  A pity, the first has a special place in my heart.

This is why movies were invented....ya gotta admit, you don't see a plot like THAT every day! Would it help or hinder the experiance to attend this little gem sober, or after a bit of, to paraphrase Ford Prefect, "muscle relaxant"?
