In the past we have had Frankenstein, Dracula, Wolfman, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Invisible Man, but over the past 20 years we have had Micheal Myers, Jason, Freddy Kruger, Dolls, and even Leprecauns. I recently read where the studios are planning a FREDDY vs JASON movie. This should be neat, becuase you don't know whats going to happen. Imagine the Hellraiser Pinhead throw into the bunch.

Universal did it with there classic monsters and TOHO has been doing it for a long time with the Gozilla monsters. This seems to follow a logical pattern. I never thought about it before. Maybe I'll watch this time. I've only seen the original films of most of the recent horror characters.

Well, somewhere along the line New Line picked up the FRIDAY THE 13TH series.  It was probably a natural choice for them to pit their two "icons" against each other, as they are probably the quintessential 80's horror stars.

I'd imagine that any studio looking for a fairly easy way to cash in on their franchises would combine the franchises.  Especially if they live in the same movie universe.  That's what they've been doing in superhero comics for years.

The only other studio I've seen do this in recent times is Full Moon.  PUPPET MASTER VS. DEMONIC TOYS, anyone?

And where's that ALIENS VS. PREDATOR movie we're all waiting for?

I have read a summary of the possible script and to say the least it was pathetically stupid. I felt like they spent since NOES 3 working on this piece of trash? I should dig it up and post the summary here.
