Title: Hannibal.... Post by: slipknotted66@hotmail.com on July 06, 2002, 12:20:01 AM Well, I had just recently seen the movie Hannibal. Unlike the movie before it, (silence of the lambs) IT SUCKED!!! The whole movie is so damn pointless and sickening, I'd rather not have seen it. It is a horror flim.....NOT ONCE WAS I SCARED, but I was almost always sick to my stomach. I don't know about what you think, but if you have seen it e-mail me and tell me your ideas. If you havent seen the movie, DONT SEE IT! Its boring, sick, and...well stupid

It's the closest we'll ever see to an American major name studio Lucio Fulci-type movie(or,what would have happened if the Tinseltown allowed Fulci to shoot a major budgeted horror film,with complete creative control,no matter how gory it is,or what it's rated). And, actually, I didn't think most of the gore was very bad. Except for the final scene, which sickened me to my stomach. Seriously, it was one of those things where I didn't know when I was going to eat again. Of course, the audience reaction to that scene was one of the best I've ever witnessed. Nervous laughter, cries of outright disgust and revulsion, people interjecting "Oh, my god, he's not going to. . . Urrrgghh. . .". Really, it was something to be savored. Title: Re: Hannibal.... Post by: J.R. on July 06, 2002, 06:19:23 AM Hannibal is what I like to refer to as a "fever dream" movie, in that it is shot and edited in a way that goes so slick and aimlessly that you never really get a feel for what's going on. It has many problems: Way too much time is devoted to the Italian cop, when the focus should be on Clarice and Hannibal, Clarice neither grows as a charater nor really does much of anything, and most of the action happens in the last ten minutes. And the brain eating scene, which was so hyped, was tame.

Its so much worse than the other two books in the series that it could be a different author, a 13 year old fanfic one for example.
I read it, and warned a friend of mine that it was not worth the effort. A few months later I get a phone call at 3 AM from the guy. He had just finished it and wanted to apologize for not beliving me about it. =Ed |
