Two years ago. Whenever I bring up the subject, he bursts into tears and we have to lock away all the sharp objects.

Maltin speaks about it in his videoguide...: "well done, bur predictable sci fi movie... " Thanks... Title: Re: The Dark Post by: Squishy on April 13, 2001, 03:26:38 PM Lennie Malty will call anything with the camera not pointed at the floor the whole movie "well done." Remember, he showed up on MST3K a few episodes after they grilled his ass to perfection.
This is how "well done" "The Dark" is: it was originally supposed to be about a man-creature gaining a kind of rotting immortality through cannibalism. Then they changed the story into one about--maybe--an alien, but kept all the mysticism hoodoo, overripe shambling zombie, and so forth, but adding eye lasers. (And the climax is just...wow stupid. No matter if the thing's an alien or a zombie or an alien zombie.) Plus, if you see the words "Bud" and "Cardos" together...RUN! FOR GOD'S SAKE, RUN! (See BadMovies.org's review of "Mutant.") |
