Title: 80's Glam Rock Wont DIE!!! Post by: Alan Stern on July 20, 2002, 01:38:44 PM "Rock'n with Satan"?!! Why won't 80's Rock just stay dead. Another movie just came out from the honerous Zone 5 that tries AGAIN to resurect the mind-numbing genre! It has all these songs that try to BE Glam rock ballads withthe worst lip syncing I HAVE EVER SEEN. Oh yeah, and it has an "evil demon of heavy metal music" as the bad guy to try to pretend it has something to say! Has anyone else seen this film? It's down at the Centro here is Malibu. I've seen Rock'n with Satan about 10 times, I even went to a premiere for it in DC. The film is frickin hilarious. It's like a mix between the Wiz and Spinal Tap, with a little wierd science in there for good measure. It's good to know people can still make good comedies and that there are still independent movie companies like Zone 5 Pictures. Back me up here people!!???

I'm sick of people calling tongue in cheek comedies "bad" as if the film makers were trying to be serious....like "manos hands of fate is the worst flick ever" I kinda doubt the people that made Rockn' with satan were trying to resurrect anything...and the lip synching was hilarious...i have a feeling they did it on purpose...just watch some of the shorts on the zone 5 website...don't listen to that "glam rock stay dead" guy...if anybody likes musical comedies with campy themes...the movie's great...

I haven't seen the film, but anything about glam metal is alright by me...haha mullets forever...

Get over cheezy movies because there's a reason that they're called it! If you want a good musical comedy, The Wedding Singer kiss ass! None of the laser effects and s**t like Rockn with Satan... BUT THAT'S A GOOD THING.

Anyway, I haven't seen ROCK'N WITH SATAN. I would imagine it just a cheese-fest celebrating times gone past. Don't worry Alan Stern or carnage7, glam-metal is as dead as dead can be. The only point of movies like these is to celebrate them. I wouldn't disparage anything for that. Anyway, I find bad 80's hair metal incredibly entertaining. It's just a lot of fun. But then again, I never pass up an opportunity to hear Twisted Sister's "We're Not Gonna' Take It". Old glam-metal had a sense of fun, didn't take it self so seriously. That's more than I can say for the new school of "nu-metal". Hint: The costumes were always a joke. Now if only GWAR would make a movie. . . I say Rock'n with Satan and other great 80's flicks need to be appreciated for their cheese factor, not criticized. Appreciate don't depreciate...legalize don't criticize....praise rock'n with satan, don't craze it!!! This movie is awesome, and thanks to one of the people who posted the address of the people that made it (to encourage others to criticize it no doubt) I was able to see that they had a whole slew of cheesy movies. Thank god for Zone 5 Pictures!!!!!! Cheesy movie LIVE ON!!! PEACE!!!
