Title: Day of the Dead (cont.)
Post by: Scott on April 28, 2001, 09:09:22 AM
Somehow I must not have been in the mood for this DAY OF THE DEAD. The Dr. was great and yes I did like the opening zombie scene when they first come out. Even the idea of that group being the only ones(possibly) left on the earth was interesting, but once they get them underground and with that commander guy it started to lose me. The Doctor made the underground part interesting, but it wasn't enough. The zombies were good, but I just didn't like the music which can set the tone of a movie.

The film reminded me of DEMONS(another film that I wasn't crazy about and it had some unnessasarry 80's music in it), that Italian film were everyone is isolated in a movie theater and become demons one by one.

Interesting, how did Demons remind you of this one?

Well, people are isolated and trapped in a place (theater/underground base) and the dead (zombies/demons) bite living people. Basically thats the main feeling from both films. Have you seen Demons by the younger of the two italian directors of the same last name (bava)? Which came first by the way DEMONS or DAY OF THE DEAD?

Yes I've seen Demons so I understand what you mean by isolated and trapped. Aside from that though, I don't see any other similarities.

Fo the record, I hated Demons and Demons 3 (the church).

Both Day of the Dead and Demons were released in 1985. Not sure which was released first though.

I didn't like DEMONS either.
