Title: Race the Sun (aka Cool Runnings Gone Wrong) Post by: The Bard on February 22, 2001, 09:46:07 PM Anyone ever seen Race The Sun? I remember a few years ago seeing a few ads for it. I happened to catch most of it a week or two ago and dam did it suck. Its about some not to bright Hawain kids building a solar car and racing it. Let me give you the run down.
Take Cool Runnings Replace Cool Jamican's with Annoying Kids (and Dumb) Replace John Candy with James Belushi Toss in Halle Berry because she's good looking And hell,throw in every cliche you can think of (Happy about coming in 3rd, Big Fat kid does good, Evil Europeans, Hot Australian Weather, sticking together, Morals about drinking... blah blah blah) I'm tempted to buy this and review it. While the Hawaian team goes through drivers like crazy because of the hot weather, the european (from germany I belive) manages to last the whole race. Must be some AC in the Solar Cars. Can someone tell me why James Belushi still gets jobs? When was the last time he was even in a movie that made more then 5 Million? He deserves a spot in the bad movie hall of fame next to Jim Varney. |
