Title: Shameless Plug for Book . . . Post by: Peter Johnson on February 17, 2003, 02:37:37 AM Just a quick note that my wife, Dixie Johnson-Elder, has 3 pages in a new anthology from Soft Skull Press, Brooklyn, called "Off the Cuffs", a collection of writing by and about the police. Ed Sanders(The Fugs!!), Anne Waldman, W.S. Merwin, Ginsberg (Wait -- he's dead!), and Diane DiPrima are among the known writers represented. She's even listed on the back of the book-cover!!
If any of you out there have ever tried to do anything in the Art field, you know how hard this is to get in something like this while still a relative unknown. Anyway, I'm very proud. If any of you pick it up in a bookstore, her poem is on page 83-85 and is called "Off Like a Glove", about a particularly gruesome child-murder in Boulder in 1983 that she helped work on as a warrants clerk. peter j. |
