Title: "Martial Arts" Robo Vampire
Post by: Perk on February 23, 2003, 12:45:10 AM
Okay I know that there are a lot of movies out there that I have never heard of but I read a review of one that totally makes no sense.  Well the name at least and the Box Art.  It's called Robo Vampire and I would like to know if anyone has ever actually seen this film.  If so was it any good to watch at all?

Oh and heres the link to the review  from whence I have heard of this "film"

Never seen it.  Dvds of it are on ebay for $3.00 but probably 8-10 after shipping

There was some discussion of this movie in this thread (http://www.badmovies.org/bbs/read.php?f=2&i=28386&t=28386), especially my confusion over what movie was what.

There's a link there to another review of "RoboVampire"

"Counter Destroyer" is one of those films that you remember for a long time, especially if you make yourself watch the whole thing.  I have also wondered if "Robo Vampire" is a different cut of the film, since the plot descriptions vary a little.

Besides the heroic robotic ninja, what I remember was the creepy vapid girl.  That and confusion over whether she was ever really human or what.  Maybe I should go back and watch it again.

Uh, maybe that is not such a good idea.

Robo Vampire kicks ass.  It's one of the funniest damn things I've ever seen, and I scored my copy for seven bucks including shipping from eBay.  I reviewed it for the Brotherhood at www.cinemasodomy.com if you want some more information before committing.  Check it out.

INteresting review.  I actually laughed through it. However there's one problem.  The what is a brainwave link.  Man my roomate loked at my screen and gave me a stern look.  Hahaha.  Thanks though for the review.  same to you Freep.  oh and everyone else just to save time in editing and returning to post more.  i think i'm losing my mind...  :>

I was sorta thinking that myself, but I'm currently watching Laser Mission (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0099978), which is hard enough to take (just how did they go from Cuba to Africa with the same communist hispanic soldiers and what strange Irish/Germanic accent is Earnest Borgnine using?)

The wife and I watched ROBO VAMPIRE last night, and though the film makes absolutely NO SENSE WHATSOEVER, it has a certain quirky charm to it. I mean, Chinese vampires in gorilla masks that hop, and shoot sparks out of their sleeves? A ghost girl in a see-through top? A cyborg who looks like he was put together out of throwaway roasting pans and vacuum cleaner parts?

Not to mention the worst acting in any hemisphere.
Films like ROBO VAMPIRE are the reason websites like badmovies.org exist.

I have tried to watch "Robo Vampire" on YouTube several times over the past year or so.

Notice I said "tried." I usually bail out within the first fifteen minutes.

What I have seen of it haunts my dreams, though, so one of these days I'm gonna bite the bullet and watch the entire film. I will probably need at least a 12 pack of beer to make it through.  :teddyr:

This is in one of my Mill Creek sci-fi sets.
I don't think I've ever gotten more than 10 minutes into it.

Yep, I own this one, too....

There's some serious dogmeat in that set.

Yep, that's the one.  It's one of those I have to take extended breaks from.

Watched it sometime last year, it's another one of those Godfrey Ho cut and paste jobs. The opening scene is quite good but from memory it drops away from there.

What a wonderfully idiotic film! Though I have to wonder why, when they go out in daylight, they look like pandas in Chinese robes. :bouncegiggle:

I finally made it all the way through ROBO VAMPIRE on YouTube earlier this week. Even with numerous 24 oz. cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon under my belt it was a tough go. At least now I can say I saw it!

Wow. Just, wow. It is nice to see that the spirit of Ed Wood lives on. This looks like  two different movies thrown together, with a Robocop rip off randomly thrown in because someone had seen the movie during production. To say nothing of the most ridiculous vampire movement in the history of cinema.

Robo Vampire Clip (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xrk9vCE7wNI#ws)

I suppose most of the budget went to pyrotechnics.

This is best not watched completely sober.

Yeah, it's a paste job, and not one of the better ones.  I think some of Ho's films are pretty entertaining - like City Ninja.  Robo Vampire, a lot of it I found boring and repetitive actually.
