Title: Ssssssssssssssss! The movie
Post by: eye envision on June 09, 2001, 11:43:16 PM
Try watching Sssssssssssssss! It's really good and cheesy. It's about a scientist who's experimenting on humans, in desire to turn them into snakes because snakes are supposely biologically greater than humans.

Snakes ruling the world is the future! Turn yourself into one now.

I believe Sssssss! only has seven s's. (I'm constantly amazed by the stupid trivia I have floating around in my head. Thank Mike Nelson for this tidbit)

For a giggle fit with your friends, watch the end of the movie together, then brainstorm about what happens after the final freeze frame.

Where does all the extra tissue go when the guy turns into a snake? Ewwwwwww, that must smell nice...

Well, "Ssssssss" could have been "Spasms."  Of course, watching people get injected with oatmeal until they rupture has its own reward...

The pleasure of this one is watching Strother "What we have here, is a failure to communicate" Martin, as the mad scientist. They don't make character actors like that anymore. After seeing this one, one might see "The Reptile," "Lair of the White Worm," which is reviewed at this site, or "Cult of the Cobra" w/ Faith Domerque, as the cobra woman, and Marshall Thompson, Richard Long, Jack Kelly, and David Janssen. All of whom went on to fame and fortune in television. Enjoy

"The Reptile" is a very underrated Hammer film - It was made back-to-back with "Plague Of The Zombies". "The Lair Of The White Worm" is a typically restrained effort by the cuddly Ken Russell - remember the subtly underplayed performances in "The Devils"?

I'm a big hammer fan and thought both those movies were rather poor.  Cult of the Cobra I loved..
