Title: Corman DVDs!
Post by: Vermin Boy on June 11, 2001, 06:48:08 PM
Just thought I'd let everyone know that "The Fall of the House of Usher" and "The Pit and the Pendulum" have been released on DVD, with commentary by Roger Corman-- the first he's ever done! Needless to say, I ordered my "Usher" disc today...

...On a sidenote, this will be the 15th movie I own that I haven't had time to watch, and 5th starring Vincent Price. Addiction is a scary thing... Thank god for summer!

I haven't seen these two discs yet, but they interest me.  Let us know how the transfers look/sound.

Sure, no prob. They're part of MGM's "Midnite Movies" collection, so the transfers should be pretty good. The commentaries are what have me excited; I love commentaries by low budget exploitationers (see the discs of Spider Baby, The Blob, etc), and Corman seems like the type who'd have a lot to say. Now, if we can only get special editions of A Bucket of Blood and Little Shop of Horrors...

Actually, he provided a commentary track with another guy (the director maybe?) for the recent Battle Beyond the Stars disc, which was at least a month released earlier than the Poe ficks.
