Title: Evil Ed, Evil Dead...How many?
Post by: Neon Noodle on April 08, 2003, 08:25:09 PM
I picked up the Boomstick Edition this weekend, and I was curious, how many editions of Army of Darkness or Evil Dead 2 there are on the market? I know of at least 4 videocassette versions but that's just going on memory alone.

Think there will be Evil Dead 4?

Let's see, for Army of Darkness, there's:

*The original Universal VHS
*The Anchor Bay VHS
*The Director's Cut VHS
*The Universal DVD
*The original Anchor Bay 2-DVD set
*The Anchor Bay DVD (disc 1 of the set released separately)
*The Director's Cut DVD (disc 2)
*The Bootleg edition DVD (the Director's Cut DVD with new packaging and unlimited release)
*Boomstick edition DVD (which I think is a repackage of the first 2-disc set)

I have the boomstick edition, its just the Bootleg edition, plus the theatrical cut with the documentary, commentary and the like, its it slike both versions just packeged into one.

Since one of my friends gave me his "Win dinner with Bruce" card, I really don't feel compelled to buy the boomstick edition.  I have the documentary on one of the three VHS versions I have, and I like the packaging on the bootleg version of the DVD better.
