Title: Disco Godfather Post by: Gypsy1 on June 28, 2001, 10:09:44 AM Has anyone ever seen the Avenging Disco Godfather????If you like bad movies, it's a must see. ;)
-Gypsy Title: Re: Disco Godfather Post by: PoorLogic on June 28, 2001, 10:42:49 AM Rudy Ray Moore's anti-drug movie....while not as good as the Dolemite films, it retains some classic 70's cheese.
"Put jo weight on it!" If you've seen Dolemite and Dolemite 2: The Human Tornado, check out Petey Wheatstraw before Disco Godfather, it's a classic! Title: Re: Disco Godfather Post by: Mr.Smashy on June 28, 2001, 11:32:54 AM I own that movie, and while it does not have the powerful emotioal/social impact of "The 10 Commandments of Mr.T", you shouldn't downplay the importance of this movie in the war against social ills and injustices. I mean that ODing scene really got me to think...mostly about killing Rudy Ray Moore before he made a sequel, but I am sure it gave me a reason not to like drugs as well.
Title: Re: Disco Godfather Post by: Abby on June 28, 2001, 12:12:32 PM I freakin' HATE Disco Godfather. One of Rudy's worst flicks. I just watched this again the other week to get clips for the Carol Speed Site.
I walked away with a very pro-drugs sentiment. The message to me was: "Angel Dust Is A Good Way To Escape Long Boring Dance Scenes." Because the only moments that are slightly interesting are the angel dust freak-outs with the cheap zombies. Title: Re: Disco Godfather Post by: mr Raffles on June 30, 2001, 08:30:28 AM I don't usually watch it, but Mad TV did a really funny send up of the Dolemite movies. You just gotta see it
