Title: Most Brutal Bad Guy Deaths
Post by: Ash on July 19, 2003, 02:39:00 AM
I was watching "The Patriot" starring Mel Gibson and at the end he shoves a bayonet through the throat of the bad guy.

OUCH!!!!!!

While this isn't the most brutal death of a bad guy in a film it got me thinking.....

What is the most horrible, violent death you can remember a bad guy suffering in a movie other than the typical shooting or falling from a great height?

I'm talking about totally original & painful deaths where the bad guy REALLY gets what he or she deserves and you lean forward in your seat & say out loud..."Take that you bastard!!" as you watch it happen.  (I often do that.  haha!)

What was the flick , where Jean Claud Van Damm  put a grenade in Lance Henricksen's pants, and pulled the pin?

Of course there's Max's offer to the badguy in "Mad Max", cut of your own limb or be blown into little bitty pieces.

I also kinda liked the german thug at the end of "Lethal Weapon 2" that had the cargo container dropped on him

btw the movie with van damme with the grenade down the pants was 'hard target' [god why do i know this]

and pretty much every james bond villain dies in very inventive ways, which is always fun to watch.  its got every thing from falling off big bridges, to being burnt alive to getting a nuclear reactor thingy shot through your chest.

ah bond, where would we be without you...

In Broken Arrow, I remember the guy gets one of those "acid orbs" or whatever shoved into his mouth and the hero makes him chomp down on it...

The Last Boyscout seemed to have a particularly crazy bad guy death, but I can't really remember what it was... somebody refresh my memory.

Under Siege: Didn't Stephen Segall gouge out the bad guy's eyes with his fingers and then slam his head into a computer screen where he got shocked?

Commando: Arnold stabs a huge pipe through the guy's chest , the other end of the pipe goes into some kind of steam-holding tank.  The steam shoots through the pipe while it is through the guy's chest.  Arnold says, "Let off some steam, Bennet!"  LOL!

Naked Gun:   A sort of parody of bad guy super-deaths.  He ends up falling to his death, and then everyone watches while he is run over by various things (I think a car, a steam roller, and a marching band end up going over his body).

The guy falls onto helicopter blades and gets shredded. Then Bruce Willis dances an Irish jig to celebrate.

The villain in TIMECOP met a brutal demise. I haven't seen the movie in years, but didn't it have something to do with the fact that you can't exist twice at the same moment in time? The villain was travelling through time, and he ended up in the same time and place where he had existed years earlier. This caused some sort of imbalance in nature or something and he disintigrated and vanished into the 4th dimension or the "negative zone" or the "Twilight Zone" or some damned place. Someone refresh my memory here!

How about the warddent's death in Story Of Ricky? Grided up in a meat grider, ouch. For a fact any of the deaths from Story Of Ricky, they where all pretty painful looking.

Most brutal? Well, there was Friday the 13th the "Final Chapter" when Jason's head slid down the machete blade, that was pretty gruesome...or the one guy in the original Hellraiser who said "Jesus Wept" when the 1,000 chains ripped into his flesh.

But if the real question is, which bad guy _deserved_ the death he got? I would have to say John Doe in Se7en, hands down, deserved it.

Not to be too obvious, but the evil murdering rapists in Last House on the Left and I Spit On Your Grave come to mind.
Frank in Beyond the Darkness/Buried Alive got roasted in his giant oven.
And the several hundred or so zombies in Dead Alive got mushed up pretty good.

How could I have forgotten Johnny Depp being sucked into his waterbed in the first "Nightmare on Elm Street" film?

The blood shooting upwards into the ceiling gave me nightmares for a week when I first saw it!

Actually now that I think about it....he wasn't a bad guy......it was just a disturbing horrible death!

The guy swallowing the gas sphere was in "The Rock", not in "Broken Arrow". I saw "Robocop" again last night and some of the deaths were quite unpleasant. Murphy, for starters, being shot multiple times. Never death by gunfire has seemed as brutal to me as in that scene. You also have the bad guy who gets a bath in toxic waste and then is run over, or Clarence getting his throat punctured by that stillet Robocop uses as a computer interface.

Michael Ironside's death in "Totall Recall" is also remarkably brutal: his arms are amputated and then falls from a lift.

The head alien getting "tunnelled" through by Derek and his chainsaw in Bad Taste was fairly unpleasant...

JCD shoves the younger version of Ron Silver into the older one and since the same matter can't occupy the same space at the same time, they sort of blend toegther, turn inside out and dissolve.

 As for horrible deaths, here are some I recall;

Wanted Dead or Alive - Rutger Hauer stuffs a grenade in Gene Simmons's mouth and pulls the pin.

The Conquerer Worm/The Witchfinder General - The hero hacks Vincent Price to death with an axe.

Stepfather III - The stepfather gets run through a woodchipper.

The Exterminator - Robert Ginty lowers a guy into an industrial meat grinder.

Endangered Species - Robert Urich gets a sample of the biological agent that has been killing animals (and some people) and puts it on the bad guy's toothbrush, which basically liquifies his internal organs.

Deep Star Six - He's not really a bad guy, Miquel Ferre takest he escape pod without decompressing, leaving the others behind. He explodes on the way up.

Day of the Dead - The psycho leader of the military gets ripped apart by zombies.

Lady In a Cage, a bizarre "Baby Jane"-type movie from the 60s with Olivia DeHavilland. The villain (James Caan, in possibly his first role) gets his eyes gouged out by DeHavilland, and while staggering around blind, manages to get his head run over by a car, complete with close-up!

Can't forget Con Air. I can't quite remember everything Cyrus the Virus gets dragged through before the piledriver lands on his head, but it was along, drawn-out affair.

what about that scene in Robocop where that bad guy got dipped in toxic waste and hit by that car, causing his head to fly off. far-fetched but gruesome nevertheless. another one would be the Un-cut version of how the main bad guy dies in The Evil That Men Do. that was an interesting-disturbing-revenge film with Bronson.

When thinking about this scene another movie comes to mind.
The Abyss : in it Micheal Beihn is a bad guy who is out to do damage with a nuclear weapon. He gets found out and is being chased in an underwater sub like thing. He is descending rapidly trying to get away from Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio and Ed Harris. He gets to a point where he isn't decompressing the way he is supposed to and he implodes.

Another gruesome bad guy death is in the movie Maniac where the guys head explodes after being shot through the windshield.

What abou the death of the badguy  in Terrror Firmer?  Having that green gook sprayed in hisher eyes. Set on fire and then the pole to the netherregions....  wince whenever I think about it.

Or what about the implied deat of Zed in Pulp Fiction.  (Blow torch and pliers)

There's quite a few memorable bad guy deaths - of course Total Recall's Richter's arms being pulled off and then Arnie says "See you at da party - Richta!" - although I don't know why he says that line.

I personally think, from a kung-fu B-movie end, the most brutal bad guy death was in "No Retreat, No Surrender II" - basically the super bad guy is one hellava tough russian guy who gets an arrow shot through his wrist in one scene, then gets dragged by his neck from behind a jeep into an alligator pit - then the Russian tries to pull himself out of the alligator pit but the jeep falls on top of him...

Then it explodes (I think).

Every single bad guy death in CITIZEN TOXIE: THE TOXIC AVENGER IV. Each one.

Soiled diaper suffocation. Tombstone piledriver to head-through-rectum uppercut decapitation. Vibrator stabbing to the nether regions of a female. Intestinal rip-out via abortion clamps. Rippage of internal vital organs one-by-one after overloading a penial implant. Death via meat grinder. Rippage of testicles. Shoving a mop through a man's throat. And, my personal favorite, the sandwiching of a man's head between a woman's breasts.

OMG, I just saw "The Granny" last night... horrible B movie, but when the deaths do actually happen, they are SUPER GRUESOME!

1.  Granny strapps her son in what looks like a gynecologist's examination chair (no, what you think happens does not) and goes berzerk on his face/head with a scalpel.  Words cannot describe how brutal it looks.

2.  Her daughter-in-law who wants to steal Granny's furs after she's dead is in a closet trying them on.  The Granny makes the furs come to life, and the little animals bite and gnaw, and tear her to shreds.

3.  Granny possesses the niece who is about to get it on with the uncle (eww).  She cuts his dick off with some scissors while she's going down on him, then chops his head off.  Someone walks into the room and sees the girl still eating away at where his groin used to be.

It was a REALLY bad movie though... the music was terrible!

When Flangepart mentioned the grenade death in "Hard Target"  I was reminded of the scene in "Raising Arizona" when Nick Cage pulled all the pins out of the baby bounty hunter's grenades.

Ouch!!!!

I think that any death by grenade would be particularly horrible!

The thought of white hot pins and shrapnel perforating a body is very disturbing!

He wasn't really a bad guy, he was suffering from extreme paranoia & psychosis brought on by the underwater pressure.

>nuclear weapon. He gets found out and is being chased in an underwater sub
>like thing. He is descending rapidly trying to get away from Mary Elizabeth
>Mastrantonio and Ed Harris. He gets to a point where he isn't decompressing

Actually, his sub implodes when it's damaged and sinks below its crush depth.

I gots one on the stupid die hard 2 movie, when the evil black army guy gets knocked into the planes propeller

raiders of the lost ark with the large nazi getting his head splattered up by the propeller of the small plane.

all the nazi's deaths at the end when the ark is opened, including the fench guy who get slit on fire and his head explodes.

the temple of doom the giant evil indian guy getting crushed

the last crusade, when the american traitor guy ages. That freaked me out for quite a while.

I have not seen this movie in like a long time but now that you say that , you are right. It makes me want to go out and watch it again. See what happens when you let too much time go after watching a movie and you read about gruesome death scenes and try to picture them.

Thanks again!!

The Secret of the Water Technique was quite strange and slightly confusing to me.  Still I remember at the end one of the bad guys (possibly the head bad guy) had a sock puppet monster bite him in the groin.  If I remember correctly, the movie ends there so I'm left to believe that he ultimately dies from that wound or possibly gets devoured all the way.  Quite strange.

Post by: Ash on July 29, 2003, 03:14:10 AM
Other than death by grenade....

I think that any death where a person falls from a great height and lands on a spike or sharp object is just terrible!

In "The Rock" I think Tony Todd falls on a metal post.

And who could forget Saddam's impaling on the tip of a mountain in "South Park The Movie"?

Any other spike deaths you can think of?

the obvious addition would be in mortal kombat at the end.  but there have been many spike related deaths.

interesting ones though are also getting impaled on shards of glass, especially around the throat, like one film i saw recently, though i can't remember what it was [don't think it was a recent film]

any glass-impalations [is that even a word? :P ]  that anyone can think of?

At the end of "Ransom" (1996), Mel Gibson and Gary Sinise have a fight and they crash against a shop window, Sinise resulting with a quite ugly cut in his throat. Surprisingly ghastly for a mainstream film if you ask me, and quite bloody.

Title: Impaled on glass

In the Lost Highway that guy gets his forehead slammed into the corner of that glass coffee table.

That was an original one.

>Any other spike deaths you can think of?

Sudden Impact - Clint shoots the main bad guy off a roller coaster, he falls through a glass roof and ends up impaled on a carousel unicorn's horn.

>any glass-impalations [is that even a word? :P ] that anyone can think of?

Ghost - The bad guy falls under a broken window and a jagged piece of glass gets him in the neck.
