Title: Stick-Fu!
Post by: Squishy on July 09, 2001, 08:38:11 AM
In the tradition of "Hyakugojyuichi!" and "All Your Base" and "Hatten (The HAT!!)":

http://www.bombthebox.com/reviews/websites/index.shtml

Go to the entry about "sohu.com" and click on the "fight" links. "Fight3" is the best.

(Tip (IE): If you want to keep any of these fun thingies, find a link--use a search engine if you have to--right-click the link and select "Save Target As..." If the file comes up as a Shockwave Flash Object, go for it; if it comes up as HTML you'll just be downloading the background page, try again. "Hyakugojyuichi" can be found as "pika.swf," "Hatten" is "hatten.swf," and "All  Your Base" is all over the place. What you say?)

Okay, I don't know what happened to the site overnight, but it has vanished. Still, you can nail it down easily this way:

1. Go to www.google.com. (You should have Google bookmarked already. Jeez. If you don't you will need to set Preferences first, no biggie, but don't limit the pages to English-only.)

2. Search for "fight.swf" for the second one (it's interactive!) or "fight3.swf" for the third. The first is an AVI file, so try "fight.avi."

3. Among the first page of links to come up, look at the links with no descriptions.

4. Links related to "sohu.games" are the best bet. Do NOT actually go to the site (it's all in Chinese and near-impossible to navigate without knowing the language and having it installed on your browser), instead, right-click the link and select "Save Target As...".

5. Save and enjoy. (Shockwave Flash Objects (.swf) all require Shockwave, of course.)

6. Repeat for "pika.swf" and "hatten.swf." As I mentioned before, avoid saving "pika.htm," that won't save the actual short.

About midway down the page, "Hakker" posts links to all three clips.
