You could add Terry Gilliam's "Time Bandits" to that list as it covers Medieval times to present day (well the 80's) stopping at fantasy and swashbuckling on the way.

Fritz did you ever see THE ADVENTURES OF BARON MUNCHASEN? It reminds me a little of TIME BANDITS.

Baron Munchausen was a great film (nerd fact: Michele 'Stagefright' Soavi was 2nd unit director on it,) the only thing that let it down for me was the fact Robin Williams was in it thankfully not for very long. I havn't seen a bad Gilliam film yet.

"The Adventures of Baron Munchausen" is one of my favorite "quirky" films.  It is a series of intertwined skits, like most of Gilliam's work.  Of course, having Uma (looking as she did) didn't hurt either.

The DVD set of "Brazil" is fantastic by the way.
