I felt this movie was a vile piece of trash, although i did like Maniac so there must be something wrong with me.

Mother's Day, featuring the smothering death of an old lady by plastic inflatable boobies, is vile trash, whereas you like Maniac? Strange indeed. Of course, I love Maniac, as well as vile pieces of trash, so I have no moral highground to speak of.

So remember, once you get out there, don’t stop to think about what you feel.  ‘Cause once you start to think about what you feel, you doubt what you know.  And once you doubt what you know, you can assume you don’t know it.  Why?  Because you don’t act on it.  Once you know what you know, you act on it.

Mother's Day: It gives us words to live by.

I think Maniac was atleast trying to make a serious attempt at portraying the psychotic, unhealthy individual that exist in our society, but it does it on a very gory and horror-exploitational level. Mother's day just seemed to me like it was exhuasting every effort to offend everyone.

No way! Mother's Day had a very clear artistic direction.

Note, for example, the character arcs. The girl who allows herself to be controlled by her good-for-nothing boyfriend is raped and killed.
The Beverly Hills actress, so obsessed with appearances, is beaten and disheveled.
The girl who is dominated by her mother kills the mother of the bad guys by smothering her with inflatable breasts, which of course are the source of mother's nourishment to her children.

These girls are defeated (or redeemed?) by perverse manifestations of their societal roles. The dude who bases his warped views of the world on television, is destroyed by a television!

It's total art. Well, maybe the ending scare isn't. Or is it? The primordial beast mother, leaping from the trees to destroy the remaining girls....hmmm.....I think Mother's Day is full of things to ponder, not the least of which is whether disco sucks and punk's stupid.

I saw MOTHERS DAY in the theater as part of a double feature with DAWN OF THE DEAD.  It was worth every penny of the admission fee.
