Title: Huh? Movies
Post by: trekgeezer on December 22, 2003, 09:40:44 AM
How many movies have you seen where it  seemed okay while you were watching it  and then later you can't remember a damned thing about it?

Or, it was fun while you watched and then  later you go, 'Gee, that was stupid '.

I will admit there are some movies that  seem quite preposterous when thought and logic are applied later.  Independence Day comes to mind.

I do occasionally enjoy some mindless entertainment.

This happens to me in reverse a lot.  I'll be watching a movie and absoutely hate it, like Night of the Demon or The Devils' Rain.  But when I think about it later, all the elements of coolness are there, and at least in idea form the movie is really good and I remember enjoying it.  So, I'll watch it again and it will SUCK.

Too many to name, I'm embarrassed to say.  I have seen far more movies than I remember the titles, much less detailed plot stuff.

Any film I don't remember much of even hours after seeing it I consider a "forgettable film", regardless of whether or not I liked it or not. In most cases I didn't have any strong feelings one way or the other which is why it becomes so mediocre that it doesn't stick in my memory. "Seabiscuit" is an example - while critics seem smitten over it I was so bored with it all that afterward I couldn't even bring myself to write a review on it. Now the ongoing joke with me is
"and the oscar goes to.....Seabiscuit!"

because i just know a film that i am indifferent to will win just to spite me..lol
