Title: can't remember title of rock movie Post by: Ezekiel Del Toro on December 27, 2003, 04:36:51 AM Hey everyone, I need your dizzying movie expertise to help me determine the title of this rock movie from the 80's I saw when I was a kid.... I don't remember that much about it, but I think that either the band 'Stryper', or some lookalike band competed with a band (possibly called 'Magic') at a battle of the bands competition. Also, one of the bands was considered 'the good guys', and the other band was considered 'the bad guys', and I think the bad guys wore yellow and black (or yellow and purple) clothes. What else do I remember....oh! the band 'Magic' have this new guitar player (who had a guitar displaying an American or British flag, I think American) who practiced in his father's barn, but his Dad didn't want him to be in a band; he preferred that his son stay at the farm to help out. So one day, he tries to sing and everyone likes it, and eventually, this guitar player takes over the role of lead singer, which makes the former lead singer jealous. And for some final details, the movie contains the usual stuff about naive country boys getting caught in the sophisticated drug underbelly of the city. Oh yeah! And the drugs eventually tears the band apart, and the lead singer goes back to the farm to get away from it all....eventually, his love interest, ever so pure at heart of course, convinces him to try again... Hmm, well I remembered more about this movie than I thought, but even with this, IMDB and Yahoo! turned up nothing...So I'm depending on the elite core of experts here...I appreciate any help you can give me!
