Title: what were your dawn of the dead impressions?
Post by: Anonymous User on March 26, 2004, 04:42:40 PM
Hey all.

Just got back the other night from "Dawn of the Dead"...loved the beginning of the film.  I'm curious how you guys thought it compared to the original (for those who've seen it).  I personally have not but mean to.  All that aside, i have a question...of the three classic movies (dawn of the dead, day of the dead, and night) what is the order in which they were made?  Just curious...I intend to check them all out but want to get the order correct... thanks

First NIGHT, then DAWN, then DAY.

As far as comparing DAWN with the remake, I think they both work and they complement each other pretty well.  The original is deeper and probably more socially significant [though a lot of its social concerns seem a little outdated now]
and the remake is more of a straight horror film, similar in tone to the original NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD.

The order of all the official "Dead" films is;

Dawn of the Dead (1978) (http://imdb.com/title/tt0077402/)

Day of the Dead (1985) (http://imdb.com/title/tt0088993/)

Night of the Living Dead (1990) (remake) (http://imdb.com/title/tt0100258/)

Dawn of the Dead (2004) (remake) (http://imdb.com/title/tt0363547/)
