I've noticed a lot of people here are really fond of zombies. They are scary, they are funny, they moan and they have no hestitation of ripping you apart and eating your intestines! What more would you want?
What is your favourite zombie of all time? It doesn't matter from which movie. Is it the intelligent zombie from day of the dead? The baby from braindead? Tell us!

My favourite is the half head in braindead, which does nothing but getting kicked around and sliding over the flood, trying to look very mean until he meets his sad demise in a blender :(

The fat zombie in the original DAWN OF THE DEAD....

There's a great fan site called THE ZOMBIE FARM where the guy who does the site writes little backstories for all the major zombies in the movie [also for the living characters, but they're not as good.]

The slimy zombie from "Return of the Living Dead" (I think his offical name is the "Tarman").  Man, it was smart as hell... it even built a simple machine to help it get to a victim.

Well, if one is talking about an anonymous group of zombies, then the ones from a film reviewed at this site, "Cemetery Man" with its zombified boy scouts. If one is talking about a zombie identified in the credits, then it is Noble Johnson in the Bob Hope film "The Ghost Breakers."

I'd have to go with Bub from Day of the Dead, but the zombie with two guns from Dawn of the Dead is a close second.

Bub, from Day of the Dead, will always be my favourite zombie. Howard Sherman played the part brilliantly!

But I must say the cute, but worryingly obseesed with self-mutilation, red head lass and love interest for the hero of Return of the Living Dead was foxy, even for a zombie!

Sigh...guess you got to observe the movie to understand where I'm coming from on that one...

That's a tough one. They all have their own charm.

I suppose Jason Voorhees (Part 6 and later) technically counts as a zombie, although those weren't zombie movies in the strictest sense. He's a favourite of mine, although I'd have to say he hit his peak in his first zombie appearance, and never was quite as good afterward.

As for zombie movies, I really get a kick out of Lionel's uncle in Dead Alive, after Mum gets her claws on him. Just his head swaying around on the end of his spine. Makes me laugh.

I've got to go with the poster boy from Fulci's Zombie. The crusty old conquistador with all those worms in his eyeball socket.

I have to go with the Templar Knights from Ossorio's "Blind Dead" series.

I'm going to have to agree with Dirtcreature here. The babe zombie...just something about her.

Dr. Tongue from Day of the Dead (the zombie with his lower jaw ripped off and his tongue dropping out.) Then I'd say Tarman or the flying refrigerator head zombie featured in zombi 3.

That would be Mindy/Melinda Clarke in Return of the Living Dead 3.

Favorite Zombie, Serious: Probably Bub. Second place would probably go to the zombie with the iron in his head from The Video Dead.

Favorite Zombie, Comedy: Seth Green with a bottle sticking out of his head in Idle Hands.

For laughs, the flying head that leaps out of the refrigerator in Zombi 3.
Seriously, I think I have to go with the popular vote and say Bub.

JohnL, that's the one! I couldn't remember her name! I missed out the "3" by accident...need a new keyboard!

Uncle Lionel was cooler before he got zombified...especially how he single handedly took on and won against 50 zombies armed only with a carving knife and a meat cleaver!

Tarman was cool, loved his reaction on, after getting bopped on head with a tin of paint, seeing the rest of the gang! :o)

Another great zombie only had a little part, but had a great line...another from Return of the Living Dead. The one who heard the radio in the cab of the ambulence, and used it for himself!

Piece of trivia: A while back I downloaded a scan of her from Maxim or some other magazine, which included a little of the article and she said that she overhead one of her son's friends call her a MILF (Mom I'd Like to F***) and was flattered. How cool is that?

Nah, you don't need a new keyboard, just clean that one. Usually, it's just a crumb, or little bit of dirt on the bottom of the contact that keeps it from making good contact. Flip it over, take out all the little screws and carefully take it apart, paying attention to how everything is arranged. Carefully blow/shake/brush out any crumbs or other debris that might be on the circuit board/flexi-circuit and use a Q-Tip dipped in Alcohol to clean the bottom of the key contacts. Then carefuly re-assemble everything. I've done this to at least a dozen keyboards of various types and never had a problem. Most are fairly simple to disassemble. Actually, I usually pop off all the keys as well and clean them and the case, so it ends up looking like new. (if you do this, make a diagram of where the keys go!)

As for zombies, I'm surprised that nobody so far has mentioned a zombie with loads of personality and a romantic nature to boot; Bud the Chud! :)

Bud the Chud...forgot that one! Always liked the original more, though.

As for cleaning my keyboard, well with the amount of foodstuffs my little spill on it when I'm not working and they're playing on-line kids stuff like Teletubbies and Clifford the Big Red Dog, I think it'll take a few days to clean this baby!

Another of my fave zombies is the one with the outstanding 'fro at in Dawn of the Dead at the beginning during the SWAT bust. There he is, pale blue, stumbling, not exactly looking like he knows who anyone is, and still his wife runs into his arms and looks shocked when he see's her and thinks only one thing...snack time! I liked him because of the great way he looked devoid of emotion until some "food" came his way. Original Dawn of the Dead...it owns, it rules.

No matter how bad it is, it shouldn't take more than a couple hours max. You take the back off and if it's a fairly modern keyboard, it will probably be one of three designs; individual rubber contacts under each key, a rubber sheet with the contacts molded into it, or a flex-circuit sandwhich where pressing a key presses the two layers together to make contact. Once you take whatever type of circuit it has inside out, you can usually pop the keys off fairly easily. Usually these are one of two types; One-piece keys that just snap into the case and which can be pushed out from underneath or two-part keys, where the keycap snaps onto the plunger. The latter can usually be pulled off from the top and the plungers will just drop out the bottom. Some of the larger keys, typically The Enter keys, Shift keys, Delete and + and 0 on the numeric keypad, will have a piece of wire under them to keep the keys from rocking too much, but this is just hooked under a couple plastic pieces.

Once you have all the keys off, you can easily clean the case and the keys. I find that window cleaner with amonia works wonders for getting off most dirt and grime. Test it on a key first to make sure it won't take off the lettering, although I've never had that happen.

Clean the contacts with alcohol and make sure there are no crumbs or other stuff on them.

Re-assemble and test all the keys.

The worst are the fancy ergonomical keyboards, some of them have a ton of parts inside.

My favorite zombie by far is the the12 year old  boy zombie from Burial Ground ( Who is actually played by a 30 year old midget that looks like Dario Argento!) .  This little f**k truly takes the prize when he Bites off his Mother's left titty after she offers to breast feed his sorry ass.  Yes , twisted incestuous zombies are definitly the kewlest .

my favourite zombie?? of course i got it, its the flying zombie head that gets out from the freezer in the lucio´s fulci " zombie3" film, eluding every  phisc rules that i know. i just think its great :)

Gotta admit, that's a good one.  I also like the chicken puppet cam in that movie.

Zombie flicks that hail out of Italy definitly kick some ass!  While most of their make-up jobs are poor,  they sometimes pull off a really creepy zombie image at least once,  and thats what makes the Italians'' the s**t''.  What better candidate for a zombie extra than some ugly, mishapen third world acters. What about Sweik  from L'Adilia  Terrore aka The Beyond by Fulci?  He's like the conquistador zombie from zombie, but better.    In a Nutshell, Fulci was the master of the Italian Zombie, period.

Bruno basically kept his name smack-dab on the credits merely for promotional purposes.   Fulci would NEVER create a flying green head that defies physics, at least I hope. :P

ok, i know zombie films are really poor, the make up, the effects, etc, but thats what i think they are greate, and when the worst it is the more i love it, its just something subjective, but they are not the worst, u have to watch some spanish zombie film.

I'd always heard that Fulci didn't even really want zombies in THE BEYOND...the producers kind of forced it on him to make the movie more commercial.  That's why they don't really pop up until the end.

.  .  .  .  What about the flying heads from Shrunken Heads?  Really stupid movie, and the heads are "officially" "zombies" because they originated from dead people (I think) and were revived by a voodoo practicioner or perhaps another stereotypically blamed mysticism for "dark arts."  It was funny to see the lead head (Aeryk Egan as Tommy Larson, I think) have sex with his girlfriend (Re-animator anyone?).  Plus the other two were prety cool nerd kids, they liked comic books, I think.

You are definitly correct when you say "the campier, the better" About spaghetti zombie flicks.  Spanish Zombies are pretty much narrowed down to Ossario's  The Blind Dead,  and also have a special Creepiness about them.  I have the first 2 Blind Dead films as well.

JMC,  That is interesting,  about Fulci's being forced to put Zombies into The Beyond.  I am not doubting you at all,  but I have a feeling Fulci loved his zombies;  he tossed them into a good majority of his films from that time period.  You gotta love the Zombies with  Teleportation powers from Gates of Hell (City...),  which is more outlandish and kick-ass than the energetic Dawn '04 deadies.  

Letsnot forget about those Bloodthirsty Meatball-faced f**kers from Lenzi's Nightmare City.  Though it is debatable whether they are even really 'zombies'...
