Title: House of 1000 corpses.....*spoilers Post by: Blankman on March 30, 2004, 01:51:14 PM Well, I finally got around to watching this movie. After hearing that it got dropped by 2 companies, I figured Lion's Gate wouldn't let me down.
Maybe it's just me, but I found this movie to be extremely on the light side when it came to scares and gore! I had seen most of the imagery in Chainsaw (Tobe Hooper's version) and 1000 corpses didn't really do anything for me. Is there a unrated DVD out there? Maybe mine was edited or something... Seems that although Rob was set on releasing this thing the way he wanted, he has yet to release a DVD with his vision on it.
I'm sure that there will be one eventually though. I enjoyed HOTC a lot, but was too disappointed with the lack of brutality. I do love the direction in the film though. The "execution" scene is amazing. Holding the camera on the scene for an excruciatingly long time, just waiting for it to happen. Brilliant! |
