Title: Black Scorpion/ Aka: The Horror that is Jaunito.
Post by: Flangepart on September 30, 2001, 02:40:39 PM
Three things come to mind with this review: 1: Hah! see, i'm not the only one that noticed the Revolver/automatic flub! 2: The tanks. They looked like M-46 Pattons, and their 90mm guns were like an 88mm in effect. guess that makes it one well armored bug! and, 3: When Crow T. Robot says, "Uh, your guns upside down", as the gun is a BREN, its just fine, thank you....though when the guy says "The ammunition i was useing could pierce 6 inch armor plate"...Not on your life, Paco! Maby 6/10th of an inch! Sheese!  Ah,yes....great monster, classic MST...and i hope Rhino puts this on out on video! And if they ever remake it...the Kid gets Eaten! Can i get an Amen for the Kid getting eaten! Hallalouya!

Amen!

(Check my comments on the review. The Li'l Bastard asks for it so often, the audience wants it; why does Juanito not receive the fate he so richly deserves?)

I've never seen the KTMA MSTies; I too hope they'll make it to general-release video someday...

Black Scorpion was actually a first-season Comedy Central episode. A number of KTMA films were done again during the CC years (e.g. Time of the Apes), but many of them weren't.  Ken Murphy once mentioned that he would have loved to have done some of the disaster films they had riffed in those days (such as Superdome and SST Death Flight) but they cost too much. They should have done "Legend of the Dinosaur" again; it's the worst kaiju movie I have ever seen.
