Title: Off into the dry tan yonder
Post by: Andrew on July 29, 2004, 08:34:58 AM
Folks, I am on my way to Camp Pendleton and, soon after, to Iraq.  The dates moved up suddenly.  I should come back around next April.  I am uncertain exactly how much Internet access I will have at Al Taqaddum, but left my wife and a friend the passwords they need for the site in case something comes up.

I have been reading these last weeks, but trying to get everything done before leaving kept me from doing much more.  I've really missed being able to write and talk about bad movies over this last year.  Hopefully, when I get back, I'll return to the groove quickly.

Stay safe, boss, and we'll see you next year.  Let Katie know we're always around if there's anything we can do for her.

Andrew

Look out for yourself and your fellow Marines while over there and come home safe. For your family's sake and your own, obviously, but you know your fans and friends on the board will miss you in our own way as well.

Do yourself and your country proud, you will be missed while you are away.

Yaddo

I know someone over there now and I'll say the same thing to you that I said to him before he left: Keep your head down and be safe.

Best of luck, we'll keep our fingers crossed here.
Are you going to be able to let us know how things are going over there?

And it looks like Sci-Fi channel may have the basis for a new movie next year:
Hogzilla: a 12-foot-long wild hog!

Take good care of youself ,man. Be proud of what you are doing and don't do anything that somebody would do in a slasher movie. You will be missed andI hope nothing happens do you.

I don't have much to add, my friend, just to add to the chorus of  keep your head down and your powder dry (the latter is prolly not much of a challenge in Iraq, however).  Prayers of the household go with you and yours.

Godspeed and good luck!

Camelspiders?  Saw a preserved one in Manchester Museum - not as huge as that photo everyone's seen, but you wouldn't want to step on it in your bare feet!

It just struck me - a US Marine in the middle of a desert?  Isn't that ironic or something?
