Title: "Not of this Earth" (1988) Post by: Andrew on October 09, 2001, 03:11:48 PM I recently watched the DVD and a few things struck me - footage from other films. I recognized the stuff from "Galaxy of Terror" and "Humanoids from the Deep" (1980), but can anyone identify two pieces for me?
1 - Two goofy monsters fighting in the opening credits montage. One is tall and looks like a pillar with knives attached, the other is squat. 2 - The slasher scenes that seem terribly out of place. Supposedly this is the alien woman going crazy after getting blood infected with rabies, but it must be from another movie. I think that I've seen the slasher stuff before, but the goofy monsters is definitely unknown to me - since I love monster movies, it interests me greatly. I don't know.
Title: Re: Slasher stuff Post by: Vermin Boy on October 09, 2001, 10:14:34 PM It wouldn't surprise me if Hollywood Boulevard took the footage from another movie; The film was literally built on the premise that re-using footage from older films could keep the budget down (IIRC, Arkush & Dante bet Corman they could beat his low-budget record)
Speaking of HB, does anyone know where the rubber monster footage at the drive-in in that one came from? It basically consists of two monsters, um, "doing it." |
