Title: Good weekend movies on TCM Post by: trekgeezer on September 03, 2004, 06:46:19 PM I'm not listing everything so check it out for yourself, but here's the ones I like the best:
Times are Central Zone Sept. 3 7pm The Magnificent Seven - Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, James Coburn, Robert Vaughn, Brad Dexter, Horst Bucholz and Eli Wallach - Just one of the best westerns ever made and a particular boyhood favorite of mine. Sept. 4 9am The Treasure of Pancho Villa - Rory Calhoun, Gilbert Roland - I have probably seen this but don't remember. Sounds good. 11am Buck Privates - Abbott and Costello - need I say more. 2:30 pm The Golden Voyage of Sinbad - John Phillip Law , Tom Baker - Harryhausen wizardry and Dr. Who as the evil wizard. Sept. 5 7:00pm What's Up Tiger Lily - Bunch of Japanese people - Woody Allen's first movie sort of , those who have seen it know what I'm talking about. Sept. 6 1:30pm Pork Chop Hill - Gregory Peck, Harry Guardino, Woody Strode - Greg and crew try to take a dirt hill in Korea while the peace talks are going on. Check the very young Rip Torn. 5:00pm Ride the High Country - Randolph Scott , Joel McCrae - I believe this was Randolph's last movie. Check out the very young Marie Hartley. Directed by Sam Peckinpah! 7:00pm Take the High Ground - Richard Widmark, Karl Malden, Russ Tamblyn. Tough ass Richard Widmark prepares a bunch of new recruits for service in Korea. The Magnificent Seven - One of the greatest Westerns ever. The Treasure of Pancho Villa - Never saw it. Missed it. I'll look it up on the internet. Buck Privates - Good comedy. Abbott & Costello are the my all time favorite comedians. Also like Burns and Allen, Honeymooners, and Woody Allen. The Golden Voyage of Sinbad - Haven't seen it in a while. What's Up Tiger Lily - Had a hard time watching this onemaybe I'll give it another try. I'm a big fan of Woody Allen and have seen all his movies, except Casino Royal. Pork Chop Hill - One of my favorite WWII film growing up. Great film. Ride the High Country - Good Western. Still haven't seen his film The Tall T. Take the High Ground - Haven't seen it. I'll try to watch it tomorrow. Post Edited (09-05-04 16:17) |
