The Good, the bad, and the really bad.....

"Slaughterhouse," Nice.  Redneck pig farmers chop people up.  Cliched final fright ending, very ugly leading lady, intentionally funny dialogue.  Great opening with footage of real slaughterhouse work accompanied by a cheerful old time song.  I loved it.  3 slimes.

"Not of This Earth" (1988 version, DVD).  I always loved Jim Wynorski, from "Chopping Mall" to "Deathstalker II," he's always funny.  Great DVD commentary on this, Traci Lords' first non-porn flick.  5 slimes.

"Ms.45"  I dig Abel Ferrara as a sleazy artsy director.  "Driller Killer," "The Addiction," "Bad Lieutenant," and "New Rose Hotel" are great.  Too bad I can only find the R-rated cut of this, because it is EXCELLENT.  I love the gender role reversal, with the destructive power of the phallus transferred to our heroine in the form of a .45.  The final sequence with her dressed as a nun blowing people away, stabbed by a female coworker (who holds the knife at her crotch....wonder what that means?) is fantastic.  5 slimes.

"Children of the Living Dead."  Anybody who says digital video looks just as good as film can suck my dick.  John Russo is a putz.  Romero should have him killed.  Sad to see Tom Savini wasting his time on this.  What a joke.  This goes in "Pigs" territory.  Skull.

On the horizon: Just got my DVD of "Bruiser" (yay!), along with Ted V. Mikels' "The Corpse Grinders" and the DVD documentary "Dario Argento: An Eye for Horror."  My DVD of "Opera" was defective, so I have to wait for Anchor Bay to send me a new one....

I was just about to rent that Traci Lords one.  I think ted v mikels is the worst director ever and agree with you about digital quality, or lack of.
