Title: The Slime People
Post by: StatCat on January 15, 2005, 05:12:48 PM
For an older flick this started off not too bad actually. I started watching and in about 45 minutes fell asleep but that was probably because I was tired as hell not because the movie was boring. Going to watch it later tonight again.

I have seen THE SLIME PEOPLE, and, although at times corny, it is fairly entertaining. It does fall into a unique category of " Okay guys, enough with the fog effects". I think It would have been even more enjoyable if they had toned down the fog effects as it made some scenes difficult to view. Fog effects aside, it is an enjoyable monster invasion type movie with a ragtag group of accidental good guys out to save the day. Either in a video review guide or on the video box, one of them credited Tom Laughlin (BILLY JACK) as being in this movie. I did not recognize him if he was. Do you know anything about that?

My copy, I believe, is a Scream Gems video. I wouldn't mind seeing it again if there was a little sharper version with a little more contrast. (By the way, I am presently watching a truly wretched movie which I will be reviewing tonight.)

Oh, man, what a great MST3K.
The mad reporter with the sheep! Fog...nothing but fog! Slimepeople!
Oh, the riffing goes on and on....

Toliver! He was played by the guy who played Mentor on SHAZAM! I like the Marine's thick Southern accent.
