Title: Conquest of Space (1955)
Post by: Scott on February 27, 2005, 09:32:54 PM
CONQUEST OF SPACE (1955) - This film couldn't find an audience today, but it may have been a spectaclular film in the 50's with the special effects by George Pal. The film is also in Technicolor and the surface of Mars is neat. In the story the flight commander goes nuts and attempts to ruin the mission. The film also has some humorous moments by a guy with a Brooklyn accent. If your an old Sci-Fi fan you will like this one.

That image looks fantastic! I can't get enough of those old, old, OLD sci-fi flicks. I'll have to hunt this one down.

This is a classic that I've not seen since childhood.  I know that Nicholas Meyer  took the Spock burial scene in The Wrath of Khan from this movie.

Being a huge childhood far of The Wild Wild West, I was surprised as a youngun to see Ross Martin in a lesser role in this, and then was heartstricken when he was killed.
