Title: Re-Animator Millenium Edition
Post by: Mr_Vindictive on March 11, 2005, 10:05:11 PM
Finally got my copy of Re-Animator on DVD today.  I had ordered it well over a month ago from "SuperDuperClub.Com" for about 10.00 (15.00 w/ shipping).  Although it took a while to get, the price was much better than Amazon's outrageous 27.00 sticker price!

The set has two discs.  The first is just the film.  It has obviously been remastered, and it sounds crystal clear, but the picture isn't as good as I hoped.  Although, it is considerably better than the various VHS versions I've seen over the years.  The second disc is LOADED with EVERYTHING you could ever want to know about Re-Animator.  Here's Amazon's listing of the features from both discs:

# Available Audio Tracks: English (DTS), English (Dolby Digital 5.1)
# Commentary by director Stuart Gordon
# Commentary by producer Brian Yuzna and actors Jeffrey Combs, Robert Sampson, Barbara Crampton, and Bruce Abbott
# Disc 1:
# Original mono soundtrack
# THX Optimizer to assure proper TV/monitor calibration
# 16x9 anamorphic motion menus
# 24 chapters with motion images
# Dual layer disc for high quality picture and sound
# Disc 2:
# New video interviews with director Stuart Gordon and producer Brian Yuzna
# New video interview with writer Dennis Paoli
# New video interview with composer Richard Band
# New video interview with Fangoria editor Tony Timpone
# 16 extended scenes (16X9 Anamorphic)
# Deleted scene (16X9 Anamorphic)
# Theatrical trailer (16X9 Anamorphic)
# 5 TV spots
# Music discussion with composer Richard Band
# Multi-angle storyboards
# Behind the scenes photo gallery
# Biographies and filmographies of cast and filmmakers

I can't believe I got it at such an amazing price.  It was well worth the wait.  Now, my Re-Animator collection is complete.  If only someone would release a better version of Bride Of Re-Animator.......

I have this edtion Skaboi. I thought they did a pretty good job of restoring the film. Watch out on the second disc, some of the interviews are long and boring.

Thanks for the warning Rich.  I have yet to check out much on the second disc other than a few of the TV Spots and the trailer
