Title: While Scott is away...
Post by: Menard on April 01, 2005, 11:26:40 PM
Yes, Scott is on a 10-day vacation from us....uh..I mean...from work.

While he is away, who is going to write up movies viewed for the month of April?

That means that at least 120 movies are going unviewed for these ten days.

Scott does deserve a break though. After all, he has earned the respect of his fellow boarders.

It was his good friend Buffy Knight who said about him,

"What a complete waste of sperm."

Uhh....wait a minute...that wasn't very complimentary.

Well..I should at least include a portrait of Scott showing him during one of his more thoughtful moments.

Uhh...okay...well that weren't pretty.

I need help. Please share your comments about Scott so we can have something for him to read when he returns. (:

Thank You

I like Scott's attitude, he never really trashes a movie even when the rest of us think it is a steaming heap. He is exceedling polite and  always capitalizes the T and the G in trek_geezer when replying to one of my sometimes moronic posts.

And what can you say about a guy that gets mistaken for Bill Gates (just watch for someone lurking around the corner with a cream pie).

You also have to admire guy that is so dedicated to B movies that he has been known to tape his eye lids open so he can keep up his self imposed 40 film per day viewing quota.

Finally, Scott is so up on his westerns that it may  have you  wondering  if he is actually vying for the role of  the Cowboy in the newly reformed Village People.

By the way, Menard he was seen posting on the board today.

Well that sneaky little (censored).

Interesting suggestion about the Village People.

I am wondering how many autographs he sold while he was on vacation. With a face like that, you gotta do something with it. Uhh...of course...I only meant that in a complimentary manner....uh...really. (:

You know to watch the number of movies Scott does he has to be watching them 3 or 4 at a time.  Now that's multitasking!

The man is certainly dedicated. I'd love to see his viewing room...I bet there's a wall of TVs 5 wide and 3 high with a swivel chair placed in front of them. Next to the swivel chair would need to be a microwave oven, a small refridgerator and the tape dispenser. Of course he would also probably need some sort of bed pan or bag to use when he hears the call of nature. It sure must be an impressive set-up. Keep it up Scott...in the movie viewing world, you make up for me falling asleep in front of so many movies.

It surely is an impressive task. Perhaps he has evolved from the need to sleep?  A friend of mine once said that sleep is for the wicked and tired.

I mean, why sleep when you could throw in a few viewings of various spaghetti westerns starring Clint Eastwood, a made-for-tv Thriller or two starring fading TV stars, and the occasional new release?

Ah the possibilities...

Oh, and while he's away, somebody really should get up to some mischief, like shuffle his movie collection around so he doesn't know where anything is, or fast foward all his video tapes to points in the movie just before a critical moment, so when he hits play, the big twist about 'the brother of the killer really being the cousin of the wife of the first victim and is now plotting revenge' [well maybe not that kind of twist but you get the idea!]

Ah the wonders of the Scott tribute post!

He'll tire of the Western thing soon, and get into his true cinematic passion:  Mutant Lithuanian Dwarf Porn, of which he is the recognized World Expert --

I believe Scott mentioned something about getting eyelid removal surgery. They just keep getting in his way when watching so many movies.

Most of the time whem Scott see a movie and reviews it, I go and rent it. He recommend Blind Beast and Shiver of the Vampires which I have seen recently and probably would have never bothered to see them if not for his reviews. Someone already mentioned it but, I like how he doesn't bash the movie he sees and does not like. He might say this is not for me or when he does bash it, you know its gotta be bad.

Hey Rich...we're roasting him here. Add a little bit of good natured insulting to what you post about him...he needs it...he's asking for it...C'mon, you know you want to do it. Let him have it. I'm sure at least one movie you rented because of him sucked...let's hear it.
Honestly, Scott seems like a real good guy so you really have to stretch to insult him but if you dig deep down, you'll be able to find something.

I guess your right odinn7 but I have a different take on Scott. I believe hes not real but a intelligent being spawned from this very site. No "human" could watch that many badmovies and keep their santiy. Even reviewers like Andrew have to take breaks. The movies he does recommend do have have a great amount of nudity in them leading to believe he studying the the women anatomy, he probably impregnates women thourgh their harddrives thats why theirs a lack of women posting. Thats my theory and I will now be asslimated by the "Scott".

I like the way he uses his Scottisms in his reviews just to see if we are paying attention. The way he puts in intentional typos like producted, intentional misspellings like Preditor, and even intentionally uses inappropriate verb usage like scorpions...attacks. Yes, when you see these Scottisms, you can just see him giving you a knowing wink.

Of course, he is. His release papers from the mental hospital said so. Of course, he could have a relapse at any moment.

Ya know, I was thinking...I wonder if Bill Gates knows that his clone escaped?

I misread that the first time. Then I realized that you had typed 'clone'. Either way, it made sense. (:

Well, how about that. A tribute page !

Went to Southern California for vacation from Los Angeles, La Jolla, San Diego, Palm Springs, and Joshua Tree National Park during my daughters Spring break.

When on the Palm Springs Aerial Tram to a mountain peak in San Jacinto State Park at about 10,000 ft.. elevation. The snow up there was 3 feet deep and a guy approaches me just to inform me that I look like Bill Gates.

About those Westerns TrekGeezer I often day dream about sitting on the porch of a dusty wind swept town somewhere out West and tossing a young boy a whole quarter to take my horse to the stable while I take a look around town, but I don't think I'll be joining the Villiage People.................. : )

For the record Menard I've been watching about 17 films a month for the last two months. Previous to Febuary I have was on a streak of about 1 movie a day for about 6 months. In previous post I've done all the math concerning the time and such involved in such a project.

I might be seeing only about half the movies a month for now on as I'm spending about 15 hours a week at the local gym weight training, yoga, tai chi, and martial arts at a reasonable price for the whole family, so I finally get to participate more, but I've always worked out at home to some degree with my basics like sit-ups, push-ups, jump rope, martial arts, and jogging when the weather is decent.

Travel, books, writing, fitness, and music are also good things to do with your spare time. Those typos/mistakes Menard are just plain bad spelling and grammer. : ) I'm basically a  self-educated person and have delved deeply into most subjects and aspects of life. I believe in cultivating a broad range of interest. My studies and self-realization have taken me far beyond geekdom. : )

The type of movies I've been watching lately Rich Andrini are simply the ones I haven't seen yet as I don't like to repeat since there are so many films in the world. I really don't have a very big collection. Maybe 100 films at the most on my shelve and I have a simple flat wide screen 30 + inch TV and $100 DVD player. My spending habits for movies are rather frugal believe it or not. Did you like Shiver of the Vampire and the other film Rich?

I"m famous for making list and planning out future projects of study. Alot of my plans reach as far as 15 years from now and I allow time for the unexpected. For the most part everthing is on a loose timetable.

Well, I just want to thank everyone for the fun and friendly comments. I got a giant kick out of them. Thanks again.

To answer your question Scott I thought Shiver of the Vampires was ok and Blind Beast I really enjoyed. That studio he had we really creepy and I like the whole getting back to our primal roots theme.

Yep, I thought they were both very good. THE BLIND BEAST was original. Never saw a film quite like that one.

Let this topic be a warning to you all...never, ever post on this board that you will be going away for awhile lest you come back to something like this!

Good to see you writing your mini reviews again Scott.  I hope you had a good time on your vacation. Now...get back to viewing those movies!

Did you notice how Scott (heh..heh) carefully removed the link to his previous vacation photos before he left? It's almost like he expected someone to download and edit them for re-posting. I don't know who would have had an idea like that. (:

The book is actually on it's way. Right now its called THE BOOK OF THE 3RD DAY (a.k.a. The Book of Scott) : )

Yep Odinn7 it's time to get back to work. I'm running out of films to view, but I do have about 350 films qued up on Netflix. That might take me a while.

Once I read about someone who's eyelids were removed and they went insane for real because they couldn't close their eyes for sleep. That's a scary thought, but then I thought all they would have to do is wear eye patches to cover up when sleeping.

Dang...that many movies could take up to two weeks. (:

If your entertainment expenditures are frugal Scott, mine are downright cheap. I really don't have a lot of money to spend on that type of stuff and it is only one of my interests. I usually try to see what's in the cheapie bin where ever I go.

I like you am pretty much self educated, my Mom and Dad instilled the love of reading in us when we were growing up (classic tv viewing too). I figure I haven't had a good day unless I learn something new.

Title: Re: While Scott is away...
Post by: Scott on April 05, 2005, 11:01:28 PM
I agree with the learning something new everyday philosophy TrekGeezer. My mom didn't teach me much, but did teach me how to use a library as I spent much time in libraries as a youth. She taught me how to find information if I needed it.

The weird thing about TV is that nobody in my family ever watched much TV. Seemed to find this outlet on my own. I think I hogged the TV with Baseball games, Monster Movies, War movies, and Prime Time favorites. : )

Hey, I just thought of something, maybe we should be extra nice to Scott. He may really be Bill Gates and he's just trying to fit in here by being one of us. He may also be picking one of us to give some of his fortune to...
Hey Scott, buddy, about those comments I made earlier...
