Title: Foreign (?) movie identification
Post by: npa412 on November 09, 2005, 10:24:44 AM
When I was 6 (around 1980/1)  I was travelling in Europe with my parents and I remember watching two movies for which I can't figure out the names and origins.  Any help would be appreciated. I've tried IMDB, but to no avail.

Movie 1)  Watched in Romanian theater and dubbed into Romanian.  I believe the movie was advertised as Superpolizist (German for "Supercop").  So it may only have been a German movie (don't know if it ever was a U.S. Film).  The premise of the move was that this human cop had superhuman strength, speed, etc. but upon seeing the color "red" he would temporarily lose his powers.  I remember him running after some some baddies in a car, but then he came across a red truck (?) and had to stop pursuit.

Movie 2)  This one gave me nightmares.  Remember seeing this in Germany on TV. I don't know if it was black and white, but that's how I remember the scary parts.  All I remember about this was some ominous shadow-like non-descript moster (fairly two-dimensional) that would walk along the city skyline.  The shadow monster looked like it had a black ghost-like sheet thrown over him.  It was as tall as the buildings in the city.

I wish I could remember more.  They could be nothing more than whacky foreign films, which never came out of the U.S.  Again, any help would be appreciated!

Not sure about the second one, but the first one is SUPER FUZZ starring Terence Hill (of THEY CALL ME TRINITY fame).

Thanks for the quick response!  I just added Super Fuzz to the top of my Netflix queue and should be reliving a part of my childhood sometime this weekend!

That movie sounds pretty cool! I'll have to rent it myself!
