Title: You people make me sick
Post by: Harry Von StinksALot on January 08, 2002, 05:02:23 PM
I dont get it, I've tried a couple of bad movies and I tell you. I wanted to kill myself after 5 minutes. I was watching Surf Nazis Must Die and they actually failed at failing to be funny.  How do you guys do it?

You see, we are part of a special breed.  We have a certain part of the brain that sends out a drug in the body that makes us eupohoric while watching bad movies.  But alas, some movies are just too bad to even make us happy.  Take Peepers for example......

Surf Nazis really does suck, s**t acting, no humour and the surf nazis don't surf. The only thing that good about it is Leroy's mom.

And this is coming from a huge Troma fan.

If you saw someone fall down a set of stairs would you laugh?

My Point exactly

First of all, we have the most potent pile of weed known to man, and drink 20 shots of vodka, 20 shots of scotch, and 10 40oz.  DAILY!

Seriously, if Surf Ninjas was the first B-movie, and it stank, not all B-movies are like that.  So shake off that bad experience and pick a winner.

I pulled my frontal lobe out with a spoon. That helped a LOT.

Have you tried not to take this stuff seriously? Maybe you were expecting too much or you picked the wrong film. Read some of the reviews here, so at least you\\\'ll know what kind of fun you may expect from a bad movie.

Don't sleep for 5 days... everything is funny.

Read some of Andrew's reviews, then pick the one that looks like it has a "Fun Factor". I'd recomend INFRAMAN!>>> now that one is stupid, weird, and fun. What i calls a  "BPVA"... all ya' need to bring to the party is "Beer, Pizza, and Verbal Abuse"...that last directed at the film! Drink the beer, eat the pizza, or the T.V. and VCR will get Reeeeeal messy.

I recomend "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1 and 2." Both excessively screwed up and pretty disgusting but also a fun night of movie watching.

Title: Any Suggestion?
Post by: Harry Von StinksALot on January 10, 2002, 12:19:38 AM
Well I've seen many other b movies, I especially like the evil dead trillogy, but that one movie turned me off for awhile.  Maybe you guys have some suggestions on classics or unknown treasures to the b movie world.  I was thinking I would try Bad Taste or Story of Ricky.

Title: Go for BAD TASTE, Harry!
Post by: Chris K. on January 10, 2002, 12:00:48 PM
You want to see a low budget film that SUCCEEDS in combining horror/science fiction/comedy with a touch of gore, then see Peter Jackson's BAD TASTE. It's funny, it's gory, it's disgusting, and it's FUNNY. The humor is intended to be funny and that's it. And BAD TASTE is from the same director of THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy if you can believe that!

I also recommend Jackson's over the top BRAINDEAD (1992; U.S. Title: DEAD ALIVE). That was funny too.

this Harry guy has to be the saddest f**king attempt of a second identity of someone in the board since me and THOR.

Say what you want about Trevor, he says what we're all thinking.

Wouldn't you want to hide your identity if you went to this site too?

HEY!......MORON!!...you missed the point dick wad. of course you don't put your full name or real name on the board i said nothing about that. i'm saying your probably some schmuck who's known on another identity on this board pulling a random name out of his ass and trying to cause a riot. i really doubt anybody who was trying to have their opinion taken seriously would name themselves "Harry Von Stinks Alot". you gotta put more work into being believable man.

Well, I'm sorry to hear that my name offends people. Yes, this is my first time posting and it's nice to know that there are kind and welcoming people on this board,,, dick.  Anyways, I just saw Dead Alive, it was simply beautiful. Favorite part was when the mother was being bitten by rat-monkey and this random guy takes a picture, hehehe.  Thanks for the feedback, I would like more suggestions on great b-movies.

As a schmuck who's known by this identity on the board but occasionally pulls a random name out of his ass and tries to cause a riot, sir, I find your comments offensive!!! :)

(Insert long, childish, obscenity-and-threat-laced, poo-flinging, ALL-CAPS screechfest here, ending with lame, whiny threat to commit suicide.*)

Nothin' wrong with teasin' the Nerd Pit a little and watchin' 'em bite their own asses off. However, I don't think that's what Harry intended...and NO, I'm not Harry, even though we're both PacBell DSL users. (Hi, Harry!)

*JUST KIDDING. That's just how 90% of flamewars I've seen end. Along these lines, check out:   http://www.winternet.com/~mikelr/flame1.html   It no longer updates, sadly, but there's a lot of "us" there.

Title: You wanted movies? Here they are.
Post by: Neville on January 12, 2002, 12:53:06 PM
If you are looking for serious b-movies, check out "Screamers" (the one with Peter Weller), "Bleeders" "Heavenly creatures" and "The assignment". If all you want is a good laugh, check "The adventures of Buckaroo Banzai" (probably the best b-movie ever), "The adventures of Ford Fairlane", "Hudson Hawk" and "The last boy scout"

ok man i'm not going to get in a tizzy because you can't read. where did i say your name offended me? seriously. althought i've taken into consideration that you're probably 12 years old so if so i'm sorry otherwise, dude, read more carefully in the future to avoid looking like a yutz

No, I'm not going to argue with you, because like a wise man once said... Arguing over the internet is like winning the special olypmics, if you win you're still retarded.  I just ask of people to be polite, now if that is hard, then oh well, we know what kind of person you are.

polite my ass look back to the "you people make me sick" title of your first post, nimrod.

My title was merely an attention grabbing gimmick, not unlike your little scenes you pull with your name.

You aren't watching what Andrew told you to watch. There are "bad" bad movies and "good" bad movies out there, so if Andrews says it is a "good" bad movie, then watch it. He hasn't steered anybody wrong yet. Of course, sometimes you have to watch a "bad" bad movie to appreciate the "good" bad movies. Enjoy!

Kevin, you are almost too right.  Yes I'm looking into the movies this site suggests, I'm just seeing how a collective mind sees others. And I'm very happpy I saw Dead Alive. Although, I think I saw the cut version, I'm not sure. Does anybody know what is in the uncut that not in the cut?

I have coined a term for our condition.  Cinemassochism.  There's some freakish part of our chemical makeup that revels in the mind-numbing pain derived from watching bad movies.  Although, there are some that are just too goddamn bad even for a demi-god like myself.  Take The House That Vanished for example.  That is hands down the worst movie ever made.  Well, that and I Spit On Your Grave.  Stay away from those at all costs.  The trick is to find GOOD bad movies.  Check out The Dead Hate the Living.  That's a great movie.
