Title: WTD: "Horror of the Blood Monsters" w/commentary
Post by: Jeremy on March 19, 2001, 04:42:47 PM
A few years back, I read that Roan released a laserdisc edition of Al Adamson's "Horror of the Blood Monsters"/"Vampire Men of the Lost Planet" with a commentary track by Sam Sherman. I was wondering if anybody out there has that LD, and if it would be possible for me to get a VHS copy of it with the commentary.. Yes, I know that it would not be the most legal thing I could ask someobdy to do, but I don't have an LD player and I seriously doubt that Troma will do a DVD release by June. The reason that I'm trying to get the commentary is because I'm doing my senior paper on Al Adamson and the teacher said I could use commentary tracks as a source. Anyway, I'd be glad to pay for the shipping/blank tape cost, so if anybody can help me please e-mail me.

Sounds like some good films. Great titles anyway.

The review for this is not too far off Scott, you should be seeing it around the middle of April (or so).  Classic romp at the cheese farm and John Caradine is the head farmer.

The Image dvd of HOTBM is, of course, out now, and I'd highly recommend it. Great quality, fun extras.....but I haven't listened to Sam Sherman's commentary yet. Been working on collecting all dvds available as they come out, for Adamson's horror movies. The quality of the Image dvd of HOTBM is heads and tails above any previous video release, including the VAMPIRE MEN OF THE LOST PLANET release (personally, HORROR OF THE BLOOD MONSTERS is my favorite title out of the many this film has had over the years, and is probably the best known of those titles).
