I don't know how to put up my sexy name pic. Or any pic for that matter.
And it's really good...

You need to copy and paste the pictures url into the text box and highlight it, then click on the button that has the picture frame on it. You should get [ img ]url [ /img ] either side of the text.

The longhand version is to simply put the image url between a set of image tags...

like this:
[img]place image url here[/img]

Of course, you can also include a link with the image by including url tags...

I recommend doing it like this:
[url=http://5g8.net][img]place image url here[/img][/url]

For an example:

This
[url=http://5g8.net][img]http://5g8.net/handies/5g8smiley1.gif[/img][/url]

Would come out like this

I hope that helps and please feel free to ask any more questions that gives me the opportunity for shameless self-promotion. :teddyr:

BTW, before Raffine has a chance to come in and be a smartass, I'll just go ahead and do it anyway...

A hammer and nail work well for putting up pictures; just remember to use the hammer on the nail and not the picture. :teddyr:

How do I find the pictures url ?

Either right click on it and select properties, or copy and paste the full text the address bar if the image is loaded on a new page.

I get a box with an "X"

In quoting your message, I saw this:
    [img]http://C:\Users\Blake\Pictures\wallpaper[/img]

That appears to be pointing to a file on your hard disk. What you want is a URL that points to a location we all can see. You should get that if you right click on the original image, choose "Copy image location" and then paste in between the [img] tags.

If you are trying to post a picture from your hard drive you will need to use an online picture hosting service.

If you want to upload pictures from your hard drive to a picture hosting service, you can use:

http://imageshack.us/

or my service:

http://5g8.net/uploader/ (user ID and password are both the word test)

Both services will format the url with images tags so you just have to copy and past the code provided; you don't have to add any more tags to it.

For example:

On my service (similar with Imageshack) just click on Browse and a window will open that will allow you to find the file on your computer.

Once you have selected the file, click on Send File (it defaults to add the image tags, so you don't have to bother with that).

You will then get the code returned in the small box, with the image tags already inserted; just copy and paste that code into your post.

As an example I have uploaded a picture and the code I get back will look like this:
[img]http://5g8.net/uploader/12294660739919_indyhathole23.jpg[/img]

Which will produce this:
