Who picked the nominations?

Where is ...

Zombie Strippers
Trailer Park Boys: The Movie
Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead
Ping Pong Playa
Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer
Baghead

(Note IMDB list some if these as 2007, but they weren't release until 2008)

They were submitted by the board.  You either missed the nominations thread, or you were on sabbatical.

I did wonder a little about POULTRYGEIST not showing up on either the good or bad movie list.  It must not have made enough of an impression on the voters one way or the other.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

Psycho Circus

These are all what the "norm" would consider "great" movies. We think blaringly obvious "bad movies" are good, so it makes sense for everyone to pick bigger budget releases. Plus, they tend to suck far worse than low budget fare.

The Dark Knight was crap.  I've finally coming around to admitting it.  My friends and I tried to watch it at our New Year's gathering because two of us hadn't seen it before.  After about 45 minutes, we just decided to watch something else.

Iron Man was much better.  If nothing else, it didn't waste time with useless love triangles and pointless subplots.  Tony Stark also didn't endanger civilians by blowing up cars that just happened to be in his way, or by beating up cops and throwing them out of buildings.  The Hulk was better than Iron Man, as it had all of Iron Man's good qualities plus more and better ass-kicking.

And Wall-E was better than all three of those put together.

That post actually scared me  :buggedout:

I watched the first 30 minutes of this the other day with my son.  Excuse the condescending tone but does it get any better after that?  I couldn't really get into it.

My vote is for Poultrygiest, although it and Hellboy 2 are the only one's I've seen. I also seem to have missed the nominations thread. .
Raw bacon is GREAT! It's like regular bacon, only faster, and it doesn't burn the roof of your mouth!

Happiness is green text in the "Stuff To Watch For" section.

James James: The man so nice, they named him twice.

"Aw man, this thong is chafing my balls" -Lloyd Kaufman in Poultrygeist.

"There's always time for lubricant" -Orlando Jones in Evolution

Then you wouldn't enjoy the rest of it.

The Orphanage doesn't have 1 vote!!!!! :hatred:
C'mon, it deserves a vote, how many classy horror films get made that don't rely on cheap shocks and top less women. It's brilliant.

*sniff...weeps for all fans of good chillers*

I missed that thread I've been gone a lot lately. Business and travel.

I haven't seen it yet...

But I can't believe you'd praise a movie for not having topless women in it!
