Writing the liner notes for these right now:

Boland [The High Land] ~ a love story set in the beautiful Cape Winelands.

Ongewenste Vreemdeling [The Unwanted Stranger] ~ a tale of murder in a sinister logging community in the Eastern Cape with a truly shocking ending.

Rip Van Wyk ~ teaches you not to drink moonshine liquor in 1859 because you might just wake up in 1959.  :buggedout:

Lokval In Venesie [The Venice Trap] ~ a James Bond type film with a singing detective pursuing diamond thieves in Venice, believe it or not.

Ride The High Wind ~ a very creepy film set in the Kalahari Desert, involving Death guarding a fortune in Boer War gold bullion.  :buggedout:

Satan's Harvest ~ South African drug smugglers try to off George Montgomery and all they really accomplish is to p**s him off highly.

King Hendrik ~ SA's first political comedy about a small town that declares itself legally independent from the rest of SA.

Kill & Kill Again ~ SA's first international box-office success and a great film.

We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness.

RIDE THE HIGH WIND sounds like what happens after I eat Mexican food.

Is KILL AND KILL AGAIN the one from the 1970s or 1980s?  If so, I remember the U.S. television ads (I think it played on some double features with KILL OR BE KILLED).  I also believe we had it on VHS in the video store where I used to work.

"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

My friend and mentor David Millin ASC who directed RTHW, would have loved that remark.  :teddyr:

Kill & Kill Again is the one you're thinking of and it'll be great to have a good DVD copy of it from the film masters. Kill Or Be Killed is also getting released next year but in Afrikaans as Karate Olympia.

Some more titles I've been working on.....

Geheim Van Nantes [The Nantes Secret]

Another tale of the Cape Winelands and one wine farmer's deep dark secret: based on a 200 hour radio serial condensed into a 99 minute film.

Karate Olympia

AKA Kill Or Be Killed: the tale of a revengeful Nazi martial arts coach   who hosts a tournament to the death in his desert castle.

More to follow: I'm up to 2011 already.
