NOT REALLY A TROUBLE, JUST A QUESTION?

on most websites, when i create a post, it comes back up so i can see it to edit or delete or revise in the next post, if necessary. that isn't happening here for me anymore, is it just me? can i fix the settings somehow? TIA!  
* edit to say that i had to click on the thread to revise this post, and that annoys me. i could swear  that it used to be different, but i'm probably wrong..sigh..ANDREW, FIX IT PLEASE!*
