I have never seen the original.

In case you didn't know, Tobe Hooper has directed this new remake.

Here's the official website:

If you read the synopsis you'll notice that this one seems to contain supernatural overtones.
WTF??

Here is the IMDB listing:

What do you think?

Tobe Hooper Tool Box Murders????

Sounds cool.  Never got to see the original, maybe this remake will get it out on DVD.

As for remakes, I have news this morning as well.

Martin Scorsese, Dead Koontz and Marcus Nispel (TCM dir. 2003) are bringing back Frankenstein.  The plan is to make a modern version of it and release it as a TV series on USA.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

Yeah:Michael Moore with Hannity,Phil hendrie,or Rush Limbaugh would make a great new Odd Couple(for a comedy of sheer terrors).

As for the new "Toolbox...",I'll have to get the DVD to fully remember it,otheriwise Tobe Hooper looks like he made a very wicked movie that could be the companion piece to "Eaten Alive",splatter-wise.

Sounds like it's probably an improvement....I wouldn't call the original a masterpiece, though it has moments.

They probably had to change it because the old style slasher flick is a  little too rough today.
