Big Lots......

I find that simply HILARIOUS.

As for Big Lots, anyone interest in sensible prices on forgotten movies could do a lot worse that Big Lots, which is a fairly good store to begin with.

I found pristine copies of Horror of Dracula, Full Moon High, and The Fearless Vampire Killers there.

They even have a wholesale division . I didn't realize they were this big.

If it's anything like the one near me, they don't have much, mostly typical dollar store stuff like cheap toys, tupperware, glasses, etc. They do have some old stuff on DVD up near the counter. Each is in a cardboard sleeve for $1 each. I picked up Creature (only saw it in the store once) and one that had three episodes of the show Tales of Tomorrow. I haven't watched them yet.

Actually, that was the first name, which they changed to Big Lots about two years ago.

Apparently, yours is the only store that hasn't gotten around to changing their name.

That name couldn't be more "Simpsonesque" if it tried.  Along with the "Leftorium", they could be the cornerstones of one awsome mall.

Actually it was Big Lots as I said...now it is MacFrugals.

He married a woman from my home town back in the 70's and he has a house not too far from where I live now. He also owns a bunch of businesses in  Benton, AR (the town where Sling Blad was filmed).  He renovated the old downtown movie theater , which when I first moved back here was the only one in town. Anyway, you think he is obnoxious on film you should meet him in person. He used to work the boxoffice and sometimes take tickets inside. He is very  loud and wears those glasses that look like the botttoms of Coke bottles.

Someone told me once that if you ever drove past his house don't stop if he was outside because he would jump your ass for disturbing his privacy.

Maybe they changed the name to Big Lots, because they were afraid of a Scottish stereotype backlash/boycott for a name like "MacFrugals" in these often overly PC times.

Jerry Van Dyke is just one of several people to benefit from his brother's DIck Van Dyke's unabashed neopotism. DVD was very overt and joking about giving jobs to friends and family on A&E's "Biography" once. That's reason DVD's untalented and irritating son, Barry has also lasted so long on TV in lousy shows like "Galactica 1980", the cheapo cable "pad out the episode count for syndication" version of "Airwolf" and "Diagnosis: Murder". SO the one talented guy in the family gives work to all the untalented ones.

A woman I work with is a fan of JVD (for some reason) and she said he claims the only reason he works in showbiz or does commericals now is to support his love of gambling in casinos. Maybe he can win the lottery and go play keno to his heart's content and stay off the screen, although those damn "Coach" reruns seem to pop up on TV whenever you least expect it.
